ISAs

What is an ISA?

Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) are a tax-efficient way of saving money. The Government created the New ISA (NISA) in the 2014 budget. The NISA comes with a limit to make the system simpler. You can use the full limit for either cash, investments or a mix of both. Individuals over the age of 16 can invest in a cash NISA and individuals over the age of 18 can invest in a stocks and shares NISA.

The current NISA limit introduced in April 2015 is £15,240. The whole chunk could be used for investing, though.

Junior ISA

A Junior ISA is a tax free way of investing for your child's future. The child cannot access the account until the age of 18. The limit is £4,080 for 2015-2016
